Smart Civils Construction (Pty) Ltd — trading as Smart Civils & PT Systems — is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering company delivering integrated, high-performance infrastructure solutions.

Founded in 2012, the company evolved from a specialist subcontractor into a principal contractor with the capacity to execute large-scale, complex projects across the region.

Our collaborative approach ensures every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

  • Specialises in: Bridge and Structural Design, and Construction of Structures.
  • Expertise: Structural Design of Post Tensioned and Reinforced Concrete as well Structural Steel, Management and Business Development
  • Largest Project worked on: (Maguga Dam, Swaziland Komati Basin Water Authority, Swaziland, R400 million (2001), 4th Largest Dam in Southern Africa
  • Outside of work: Phumudzo has strong interest in gardening

Johan Booysen

Johan Booysen

  • Specializes in: Post Tensioning; Multi strand, mono strand, bonded, un-bonded solutions for building and civil applications. I have 17 years of experience in the PT industry and have been involved with many PT project during this time. I started my career as a site supervisor and have carved my path to Contracts manager.
  • Expertise: Pricing of PT projects, client relations, project management, technical support in Post Tensioning.
  • Largest Project worked on: Kusile and Medupi Power Stations, lifting of boiler parts into place. Largest lift on each of these project were approximately 1 200Tons for the grillage.
  • Personal interests: I am an avid marine aquarium enthusiast and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
